Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will own significant portions of our team's codebase, and participate in setting strategic direction for the project. Your main duties will include designing and implementing new features, optimizing and maintaining the existing code, and ensuring that the software meets the high-quality standards through testing and debugging. You will also work closely with other developers, designers, and product managers to ensure the software meets our users needs and modern non-functional requirements.

Required technical and professional expertise

• 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise level software in Java;
• Experience with large scale, data-driven, web-based microservices;
• Strong collaborator, with fluent English and good communication skills;
• Able to work with product management to clarify requirements;
• Experience with Java, object-oriented programming, REST, relational databases, schema design and SQL;
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and asynchronous architectures;
• Understanding of best SDLC practices: coding standards, reviews, code management, build processes, and testing;
• Able to take part in regular on-call shifts as per the team's schedule.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Experience with AWS or other public cloud technologies;
• Experience with ReactJS, JavaScript and one or more modern JS UI frameworks;
• Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git;
• Familiarity with Maven;
• Familiarity with a DevOps working model.
