The Role

We’re looking for a motivated Senior AI Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role you'll focus on developing advanced unmanned ground vehicles for governmental and civilian applications.

To join our team, you should be excited to:

• Design, implement, and optimise machine learning models to enhance the perception and planning capabilities of outdoor ground robots
• Develop systems to process and fuse multi-modal sensor data, including RGB, LiDAR, thermal cameras, and IMUs
• Collaborate with robotics engineers, hardware engineers, and data scientists to ensure robust and efficient integration of autonomy features
• Conduct rigorous testing of autonomous systems in simulation environments and real-world scenarios to guarantee performance, safety, and reliability
• Document development processes, algorithms, and system configurations for both internal teams and external stakeholders

Your Profile

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++, along with experience in PyTorch and TensorRT
• Practical experience with machine learning-based perception and planning tasks, including object detection, semantic segmentation, and the full machine learning lifecycle from dataset creation to model deployment
• Knowledge of processing data from LiDAR, radar, GPS, IMUs, and camera sensors
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems independently and in team settings
• Familiarity with software development best practices such as version control (e.g., Git), continuous integration, and Agile development methodologies
• Experience with generative models and deploying and optimizing models for edge devices is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree, Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field
• Fluency in English is required, and German is a plus
