Software Developer
Northpool
Leiden, Netherlands
Grasp the opportunity:
As a Software Developer, you will closely collaborate with both our Frontoffice (Northpool’s traders) as well as our Backoffice and support teams, where you are expected to be able to turn requirements into implemented solutions.
In the first months, the main objective is to implement solutions that take care of all “post-trade” processing. These are all the steps involved in a trade, from the point of trade execution and capture, all the way through to the settlement of the trade. The final goal is to fully facilitate all post-trade processes in a seamless and highly efficient operational landscape.
After having gained experience in the Northpool landscape and having worked on the implementation of these robust processes, projects are expected to be even more trading desk focused. Examples of projects could be related to real-time option valuation, risk visualization, model optimization, automated trading, strategies and/or execution algorithms.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of post trade processes into Northpool’s Energy Trade and Risk Management (ETRM) system.
- Closely collaborating with (and including retrieving requirements from) both Front- and Backoffice teams as well as the finance teams.
- Design and implementation of adapters between the ETRM and other automated software solutions.
- Interfacing with 3rd party software, APIs, etc. to enable Northpool's use cases.
- Understanding the data and concepts applicable to the energy sector that are fundamental to the solutions developed, as well as understanding the problem at stake that the software should solve.
- Applying DevOps for deploying applications in Northpool infrastructure as well as being able to achieve high availability and redundancy of automated software.
- Optimization of post trade processes to enable scaling.
