Description

We currently have a vacancy for an System Engineer (Linux) fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on-site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated with the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your tasks

Practical validation and implementation of the solutions recommended or designed by the Software or Infrastructure Architects;
Design, development, tests, documentation, release control, maintenance and technical support of infrastructure software components and services matching the specifications;
Proof of concept, prototyping of infrastructure solutions;
Technical responsibility for infrastructure development projects;
Provision of technical studies, technical expertise, technical evaluations in relation with Information Systems infrastructure;
Production of technical documentation;
Assistance with configuration of the system for production deployment and in training administrators and users.

Requirements

University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of 7 years;
Good knowledge of web applications, apps back-end applications, infrastructure script, or other development area, as required to perform the specified tasks;
Experience in component-based and service-oriented applications development or configuration;
Understanding modelling languages or tools (e.g. UML);
Knowledge and experience in administration of the Linux system operating system, in particular Red Hat Linux 8+ (installation, firewall and maintenance scripts);
Knowledge and experience with Docker, Kubernetes and/or Podman;
Knowledge and experience in administration of the Apache HTTPD server, including SSL;
Knowledge and experience in configuring file transfer systems SFTP server (e.g. ProFTPD) and/or Rsync;
Knowledge and experience in administration of the Tomcat Java Application Server;
Knowledge of relational database management of MySQL/MariaDB (installation and general maintenance);
Knowledge and experience in AWS public cloud hosting;
Knowledge of Oracle DB is an asset;
Knowledge in Python scripting is an asset;
Ability to understand, speak and write French will be an advantage;
Excellent command of the English language.
