About the job

We are now looking for driven software engineers to be responsible for system setup, equipment integration design, configuration, deployment, testing and validation of our MES system for our new factories and production lines to come.

You will be part of a project team which are responsible for deliver our digitalization offering to our manufacturing site Drei in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. You will work closely with the MES development engineers, platform engineers and our equipment suppliers to ensure we're able to setup and integrate Northvolt MES efficiently.

Software Tech Leads will be responsible to deliver Northvolt’s MES Core components to Drei manufacturing lines as well as maintaining and improving the system as the production lines are commissioned.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

System and integration design
MES component configuration & deployment
Digital commissioning - testing & validation
Digital factory support

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a software engineer, preferably in a forward deployed or integration-focused role.
Expertise in designing and developing software solutions, with a focus on system integration.
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Golang, Python, Java, C++) and experience with software development frameworks.
Experience working with cloud solutions (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP etc)

Bonus points for:

Knowledge of battery manufacturing processes and related equipment integration is a plus.
Understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES) and related technologies.
Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese).
Experience leading teams of software engineers
