Research Engineer, Computer Vision

NVIDIA is searching for an outstanding computer vision and deep learning research engineer to join the dynamic vision and learning research team. We are passionate about research that pushes boundaries but also has impact in the real world! We are looking for an expert in computer vision with an appetite for tech transfer. You will work within an outstanding and collaborative research team that consistently publishes at the top venues in computer vision and machine learning. Your contributions have the chance to create real impact on our products.
What you’ll be doing:
- Research, design and implement novel computer vision and deep learning methods.
- Guide the team's efforts in scaling up deep learning models and aligning research with product needs.
- Collaborate with other team members and other research and product teams.
- Transfer technology to product groups.
- Mentor interns and PhD students.
What we need to see:
- A master in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics. PhD is a plus
- Good knowledge of theory and practice of computer vision and deep learning methods.
- Excellent programming skills in rapid prototyping environments such as Python.
- Knowledge of common machine learning frameworks, such as PyTorch
- Knowledge of C++ and parallel programming (e.g., CUDA) is a plus.
- Experience in turning a research project into a product and a good understanding of this lifecycle: packaging, publishing models, deployment onto specialized target hardware, etc.
- Optimize training performance and resource utilization across distributed environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to distributed data processing and model training.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies.
- Good knowledge of version control systems, e.g., git.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- A good publication record at top venues like CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR is a plus.
