The Research Manager serves a hybrid role of team leadership and research project management.

Strategic Leadership: Together with key stakeholders, you will represent the overall goals and strategic objectives of the research project;
Delivery Excellence: You will work with the technical project leads to drive initiatives and collaboration to ensure fast progress to delivery on team and track level;
Technical Insights: You will work in close collaboration with the technical project leads to stay up to date with the latest developments and research opportunities;
Team Management: You will develop and maintain a cooperative research environment that renders the collaboration as effective and efficient as possible;
People Leadership: You will inspire, develop, recruit and motivate a team of high performing researchers. This includes building 1:1 relationships with people, setting their development or improvement plans and establishing a healthy, non-retaliatory feedback culture;
Growth Management: You will enjoy accompanying change and finding new solutions with peers, managers and other stakeholders, in a growing and fast-changing environment

You hold a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or a comparable subject;
You have a proven track record of successfully leading and scaling software engineering teams, ideally in a global, high-growth scale-up and research-intense environment;
You have a solution-oriented mindset and are able to navigate through ambiguity and change effectively;
You have hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Software development, ideally backend;
- Technical and people leadership;
- Deep Learning (advantage but not a requirement).
You are open to find pragmatic and efficient ways to collaborate on a team and track level, taking the requirements of a research-centric environment into account;
You have excellent communication skills and are able to collaborate closely with other teams throughout the entire organization;
High level of English (knowledge of German and other languages is an advantage).
