At Uni Systems, we are working towards turning digital visions into reality. We are continuously growing and we are looking for a Database Developer to join our UniQue team.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Contribute to strategic and architectural decisions regarding the software.
  • Database installation, configuration and administration.
  • Database monitoring and tuning.
  • Application installation, configuration and management.
  • Responsible for providing technical support for the database environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases.
  • Monitoring of application usage and performance.
  • Access management.
  • Writing of database or application procedures manuals, including disaster recovery plans.
  • Database/application incident management.
  • Coordination of database and application support.
  • Make studies/analyses on proposed changes, assess impact and propose database adaptations/application server adaptations to fulfil specifications and requirements.
  • Report and communicate with providers of products as regards errors, incidents and problems.

Requirements

What will you be bringing to the team?

  • Bachelor degree in IT and minimum 10 years of experience in IT, including 5 years of experience with RDBMS.
  • Minimum 6 year in modelling tools (e.g. UML).
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and multiregional configurations.
  • Proficiency in database design and model.
  • Good knowledge of relational database systems.
  • Database Administration, Tuning, Management and Security.
  • Excellent knowledge of application development environments.
  • Proficient in database backup and restore strategy using full database backup/restore and transaction log backup/restore.
  • Strong knowledge of active/active and active/passive clustering.
  • Strong knowledge of high-availability strategies (includes log shipping, DB mirroring, replication and SRDF) and experience in Disaster Recovery tests.
  • Experience in database monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, maintenance and auditing configuration.
  • Understanding of Active Directory in the context of database security and windows scripting is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of the design and development of web and multi-tiers Internet applications.
  • Fluent in English at least at a level B2.
