Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable, high-performance systems. You will play a crucial role in developing the backbone of our applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and services;
Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions;
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code;
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability;
Ensure the security and integrity of applications;
Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise;
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth;
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
5+ years of experience in backend development;
Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python or Java;
Experience with database systems (SQL and NoSQL);
Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns;
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization tools;
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture;
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail;
Strong communication and teamwork skills;
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with geospatial data and Earth observation technologies;
Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines;
Knowledge of Authentication workflows and securing applications (OpenID, OAuth2, etc.);
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
