We’re seeking highly motivated Software Engineers to develop innovative interior sensing technology designed to enhance the safety and comfort of the vehicle cabin. Interior sensing is a new and rapidly growing area that provides life-saving products such as driver drowsiness/attention monitoring, seat belt recognition, and left-behind child detection, as well as convenience features such as gesture recognition. In this role you will bring the product vision for the next generation of interior sensing innovations to reality by working as part of a global engineering team to design, implement and test software features and user-focused use cases.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyze internal & external customer requirements to come up with a software strategy to achieve project goals. Apply lessons learned from previous projects as well as best practices from outside the automotive industry;
  • Create and document software design meeting requirements using UML;
  • Write robust and reusable high-level software code implementing interior sensing features;
  • C, C++, and Python languages on a variety of target platforms including PCs and embedded SoCs;
  • Define unit tests and software test strategy;
  • Ensure software quality goals are met;
  • Work closely with counterparts across global team to overcome obstacles in meeting program deliverables on time with quality;
  • Be passionate about creating and understanding new technologies and inspire others to do the same.

Experience/Skill Requisites

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (engineering, computer science, physics, or related field of study);
  • 5+ years of experience writing software using C, C++ and/or Python;
  • 3+ years of experience working in an Agile development team;
  • 2+ years of experience working with distributed software communicating over CAN or Ethernet;
  • Familiarity with software development processes (CI/CD, Automotive SPICE) and tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Polarion, GIT, etc.).

Desired skills

  • Experience with Linux or QNX: configuration, command line usage, shell scripting, etc.;
  • Familiarity with software modeling in UML using tools such as Enterprise Architect;
  • Experience with machine learning, computer vision, image processing, and cameras;
  • Familiarity with micro service architectures and cloud-based computing;
  • Experience with vehicle protocols - CAN, LIN, Flex Ray, Ethernet;
  • Comfortable developing both low level (drivers) and high level (applications) software;
  • Highly self-motivated and energetic;
  • Good analytical, problem solving, interpersonal skills with an effective communication and presentation ability. English language proficiency is a must;
  • Excited about and willing to work as part of a global engineering team;
  • Highly self-motivated and energetic;
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies, passion for continuous improvement.
