Ciklum is looking for an empathic Java Principal Lead to join our strong and professional team in our Java delivery center. You must be talented, experienced, and eager to lead highly capable Java teams to design, develop, and launch modern products for international enterprise clients.

You will aim to make your local Java center of excellence to be a great place to work. You will work closely with the global head of the center of excellence to have a consistent, scalable, and world-class Java organization. This role will set up the foundations in the local Java center of excellence, implementing the standards for Java center of excellence and ways of working.

Responsibilities:

As Java Principal Lead you will lead a team in your local market and report directly to the Local Head of Product Engineering and Global Head of Centre of Excellence.

You will be responsible for building a high-performing team that receives internal recognition. To create an environment that your team recognizes as a great place to work and build their careers. To support Java strategy and support the local Centre of Excellence community.

Their focus is:

Support on client pre-sales and engagements directly as a billable SME
Supports Global Head of CoE and Local Head of Product Engineering
Deploying standards such as the engineering grades, technical interview approach, toolsets, and other enabling artifacts for recruitment, deployment, and delivery
Deploying career paths, L&D paths, knowledge sharing, competency matrix, and other enabling artifacts for Ciklumers in their CoE
Reports directly to their delivery center’s Head of Product Engineering and has a dotted line into their Global Head of CoE

Internal Responsibilities:

Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment within the [x] Centre of Excellence that drives a community that grows and retains talent
Formal line management responsibilities of your direct reports including
Setting and being accountable for team performance metrics and KPIs
Representing your direct reports in the formal annual performance management process
Active mentorship and career coaching of your team
Creating an inclusive, motivating environment where your team feels empowered and excited to come to work

Client Facing Responsibilities:

Acting as an Engineering technical lead on a client account to drive product engineering excellence, provide outstanding client service/advice and push for the highest quality and innovation within the client’s products

Requirements:

Plenty of practical Product Engineering experience in either fast growth, post-series-A companies or enterprises
Experience in collaborating with designers, product managers, architects, delivery and development teams and the aptitude to motivate inter-functional teams
Setting clear and attainable goals and priorities. Time-management, ability to handle multi-tasking activities, and prioritization
Performance management – manage individuals and groups, set performance targets, monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria
