CONTEXT & JOB DESCRIPTION

The IT Services Group plays a pivotal role to the European Synchrotron's scientific missions, providing computing resources and services. Join our IT team and play a key role in the daily operations of our expansive and intricate data communication network. This network boasts approximately 700 switches, enabling 45,000 ports that connect over 10,000 network nodes.

Your main missions will include:

  • Contributing to constant evolution of the network infrastructure by improving its reliability, security and performance;
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving;
  • Maintaining network appliances and infrastructure services;
  • Managing upgrades and new installations: including validation tests for new devices, documentation, organization of installations, and network maintenance;
  • Managing and maintaining Ethernet switches, routers and network appliances;
  • Participating in Network standby runs (mandatory);
  • Defining and implementing cybersecurity plans for network-related actions;
  • Management and operation of LAN/WAN security, including campus firewalls, VPN, WAF, threat defense systems, etc.;
  • Design and deployment of our new data centre and Campus network architectures;
  • Developing and administrating wireless networks;
  • Monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting Including participating in ticketing and issue resolution.

EXPECTED PROFILE

  • Higher university degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent. (Master or equivalent 300 ECTS diploma);
  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience;
  • An official Cisco or Extreme Networks certification would be an asset;
  • Experience with the following technologies: SDN, Fabric, IPv6, VPN, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, wireless, and network security;
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, programming languages and scripting;
  • Team spirit, autonomy and a service-oriented attitude;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Flexibility and capacity to adapt to projects evolution.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Permanent contract.

The salary will be calculated on the basis of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
