What will you be doing in this role?
- Install and configure hardware and software systems
- Manage user access and permissions
- Back up and restore system data and configuration
- Monitor system performance and availability
- Forward logs to archiving/forensic systems
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues
- Develop automation scripts for system administration
- Implement and verify guards and data diode configurations for cross-domain data exchange
- Adapt release markings and email attachment types
- Configure additional cross-domain flows
- Monitor and test software updates and patches
- Support A2SL process for software approval
- Create and maintain SOPs and documentation
- Review and update security documentation
- Train and familiarize teams with processes
- Provide technical support for infrastructure and operational issues
- Collaborate with teams to resolve issues in secure cross-domain data exchange
Requirements
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Hold a Linux certification such as RHCSA or GCUX
- Posses a Network Management certification such as Network+ or similar
- Have a ITIL Foundation certification or similar Service Management certification
- Possession of one of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, GSNA, SANS GIAC is considered an advantage
- 5+ years of experience in IT security, with a focus on Security Tools Management in large organizations
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices and engineering principles, including programming skills
- Proven experience in analyzing and interpreting system, security, and application logs to diagnose faults and identify abnormal behaviors
- Expertise in system instrumentation solutions, including Linux System Administration (preferably RedHat Enterprise Linux), scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible), and security devices such as firewalls and SELinux for system hardening
- Strong skills in system monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex network security issues
- Proficient in network protocols and traffic analysis, with hands-on experience in LAN/WAN networking, network architecture, and TCP/IP protocols and services
- Understanding of Information Security Practices relating to the Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information (CIA triad) is considered an advantage
- Experience of working with national Defence or Government entities is considered an advantage
- Proficiency in English language at a minimum B2 level
