Job description

We're looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer that is curious and open minded when it comes to technology. You’ll be working on a microservices architecture responsible for the Sportsbook Betslip, Cashout and Build Your Odds for William Hill's UK, Spanish and Italian websites.

What you will be doing

• Translating functional and non-functional requirements into working software with your team;
• Working closely with the team to analyse, debug and resolve any defects;
• A commitment to monitoring and observability, trying to find performance issues or bottlenecks in advance;
• Ensuring technical debt is managed effectively (avoid creating it & remove it whenever there's opportunity);
• Communicate clearly with everyone, translating non-technical and technical requirements appropriately to stakeholders;
• Understanding timelines and dependencies, coordinating with teams around you;
• Taking responsibility for product delivery and your contributions to it.

Who we are looking for

• Solid experience with Java (at least 11) frameworks eg. SpringBoot;
• Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB, RIAK (or other NoSQL databases);
• Kafka, ActiveMQ (or other messaging platforms);
• Experience in Docker, GitLab CI, AWS and Terraform.
