Senior Hardware Modeling Engineer

ADI’s Software & Security Group (SSG) is looking for a hardware engineer to develop Simulink models for ADI hardware products. The job will focus on creating Simulink models for various analog, digital and mixed-signal products including MEMS devices (gyros, accelerometers, IMUs) and precision converters (Sigma-Delta ADCs, SAR ADCs). The job will require interaction with a variety of internal business units and building a relationship with MathWorks technical representatives to stay on top of MATLAB and Simulink modeling toolbox improvements. Responsibilities:
- Model Development: Lead the development of Simulink models for various projects, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and scalability requirements.
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and understand product requirements and translating them into detailed Simulink models.
- System Integration: Work closely with system architects and engineers to integrate Simulink models into larger systems, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Optimization: Identify opportunities for model optimization and implement improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Verification and Validation: Develop and execute verification and validation plans to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Simulink models.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for Simulink models, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior model designers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in Simulink model development, including experience using the one or more of the following: Mixed-Signal Blockset, DSP Toolbox, Control System Toolbox, Sensor and Navigation Toolboxes. Candidates more years of experience be considered and assessed based on their experience level.
- In-depth knowledge of analog and mixed-signal systems.
- Understanding of digital systems and DSP fundamentals.
- Fundamental MATLAB programming knowledge to initialize Simulink models and create custom Simulink blocks and block masks.
- Strong understanding of system engineering principles and the ability to translate requirements into Simulink models.
- Experience with model-based design and verification/validation processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
