Position summary:

The Sr. Middleware Engineer role will carry out lead administration tasks for integration solutions within established policies and procedures. This person has proven administration experience of Oracle’s integration products, primarily centered around Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Suite and Infrastructure application integration. The role will include planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing infrastructure platforms

Job Responsibilities:

The main operational responsibilities are:

  • Be a Subject matter expert in a variety of Middleware Applications such as WebLogic 12c, Tomcat, Apache, WebSphere, Oracle SOA products (SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus (OSB), Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle ESS, WSM) in the environments;
  • Work with Data Loading tools such as OBIEE, Informatica, MDM & ODI;
  • Design, Architect and Build infrastructure components with Resilience, HA & Best Practices in mind;
  • Manage MW products, including Server Administration, Patching, Backup/Recovery, Scripting and Code Deployments;
  • Design and Build Disaster Recovery of MW Infrastructure services;
  • Monitor & Automate MW products in their respective environments;
  • Responsible for Production support, including problem determination and resolution;
  • Experience with Enterprise Monitoring or CA tools such APM, UIM is preferred;
  • Work directly with vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IBM, etc. as needed to ensure application stability;
  • Experience with AWS or Azure is preferred;
  • Lead and assist proof-of-concept activities for all businesses across the enterprise;
  • Identify new opportunities to provide additional value to improve business value.

Qualifications and experience:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate:

  • 4-year Bachelor degree or equivalent prior experience;
  • 4 years of experience in Oracle or IBM administration;
  • 3 years of experience in WLS, Apache Tomcat, SOA, OSB, BPM, and ECM is required;
  • 2 years of experience in using Oracle Enterprise Monitoring (OEM) for performance tuning and monitoring of MW instances;
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams and application teams;
  • SAP Basis/S4HANA skills are highly preferred;
  • Proven Communication skills with the ability to build strong partnership with business clients & technology teams to deliver solutions (e.g. written, verbal, presentation skills);
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts quickly, strong ability to translate technical verbiage into easily understandable language for non-technical audiences;
  • Provide status updates for completing stakeholder status reports;
  • Some travel required (up to 20%);
  • Expected to complete projects within specified deadlines;
  • Expected to work occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime;
  • Expected to perform on-call duties.
