A great opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join a highly specialized and dedicated engineering team, developing software products and control solutions for integration of wind power plants in the power grid. As a Lead Software Engineer in the team you will be responsible for:

  • Technical leadership of software related projects in close cooperation with project and line managers;
  • Development of software and automation tools to support the entire electrical BoP and Hybrid area, with focus on our electrical simulation models, plant control and other relevant products and solution for Vestas - Estimation, planning and execution of tasks in close cooperation with the local and remote teams;
  • Scoping, specifying and delegating task to reach department and project objectives.

As a Lead Software Engineer in Plant Electrical Engineering, you will be a part of the Software team and report to the Team Leader of Plant Electrical Engineering.

Your main responsibilities and tasks will include:

  • Lead the development of software and automation tools to support the entire electrical BoP and Hybrid area, with focus on our electrical simulation models, plant control and other relevant products and solution for Vestas;
  • Taking a key role in defining and developing internal software tools and scripts to enhance productivity and reliability of our electrical simulation models in the department;
  • Software engineering activities in optimizing the model development and validation processes by using in-house testing SW and validating against field measurements;
  • Creating and reviewing software requirement specifications and engineering design descriptions;
  • Participate in cross functional teams developing software related tools to increase efficiency across different areas in Vestas.

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar;
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience;
  • Programming Skills (C++/Python/.NET/C#/Web Development/Fortran/SQL);
  • Strong knowledge and experience with WPF and MVVM;
  • Knowledge and experience with UX/UI in XAML;
  • Knowledge of software development tools (Jira, SourceTree, Git, etc.);
  • MS SQL database knowledge will be a plus point;
  • It is an advantage to have experience with: NUnit (or other unit testing frameworks); MongoDB; Rest Api;
  • Domain knowledge within wind or renewable energy industry is not necessary.
