Job Description

To support the continued growth of Arm and the development of our CPU team, we seek a highly motivated project manager capable of managing multiple concurrent software-based projects, working with various key stakeholders to deliver measurable benefit. You will be leading multiple project teams in a dynamic environment to ensure delivery against quality, specification, and schedule commitments.

Effective project management is central to successful delivery within the Arm CPU group. Our team of project managers have a wide range of backgrounds and they play a leading role in our multi-disciplinary group, taking accountability for ensuring delivery of high-quality products from conception through to release. This is achieved by collaborating closely with engineering and product management and by working with and supporting the other project managers in the team.

To be considered for this role you will have a deep understanding of iterative/agile development methods and proven experience of project management across all aspects of the engineering development lifecycle. Excellent interpersonal skills are a requirement, as is displaying confident leadership and a dedication to engage the team and drive your projects through to success. As a group, we are focused on continuous improvement of process, ways of working and engineering efficiency, and we use metrics to drive improvement initiatives in those areas. You will be expected to be very pro-active in identifying and driving through changes and improvements across the organization.

This role might require some level of travel to work across Arm Design Centres and with Arm Partners.

Education & Qualifications

  • A university degree (or equivalent experience) in either Engineering or Computer Science is desired, although other degrees would be considered if there is relevant experience.

Key Accountabilities

You will:

  • Own planning, scheduling, resource allocation, tracking and monitoring, working closely with the technical leads and engineering managers;
  • Capture, monitor and manage risks and issues;
  • Motivate and drive teams to deliver against commitments and deadlines;
  • Work with project partners across the organisation to communicate project status, manage dependencies and facilitate the optimal flow of progress;
  • Work constructively and pro-actively to help continually develop and improve our processes and ways of working;
  • Have a can-do attitude and be a collaborative member of the leadership team.

Job Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Leading software-based projects, preferably in an agile or iterative environment;
  • Leading, monitoring, motivating and influencing highly skilled engineering teams and communicating software/hardware concepts with confidence;
  • Driving project management in a rapidly changing development environment;
  • Building project plans and delivering against them;
  • Clear understanding of, and ability to apply the concepts of risk management;
  • Liaising with customers, partners and remote development teams;
  • Ability to manage stakeholders through personal leadership and clear project goals;
  • Engineering background.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Familiarity with project tools e.g. Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence;
  • Comfortable with configuration methods, versioning and documentation tools;
  • Understanding of a range of software and hardware development lifecycle methods (e.g., waterfall, iterative, agile);
  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. PMP);
  • First class communications skills, both written and verbal, in English;
  • Self-motivated, looking to accept new challenges;
  • Professional attitude, with strong attention to detail;
  • Pro-active and pragmatic with regards to problem solving.
