The Independent Hotels unit enables hoteliers to advertise their direct rates and take control of how their property is displayed on our metasearch engine, while leveraging their unique position in the industry. As a Software Engineer (Full Stack) in this unit, you'll actively shape the future of our projects and write scalable backend services and clients for our hotelier product trivago Business Studio. You’ll work in a small but dedicated and engaged team of highly-skilled professionals including engineers, quality assurance engineers, product managers, data analysts, and UX designers. How you’ll make an impact:

Develop and maintain a varied microservice ecosystem
Develop and maintain web clients
Write clean, maintainable and testable code
Set up efficient and high performing database queries in MySQL
Collaborate, support, and work hand-in-hand with frontend, QA, design and concept teams
Participate in and contribute to technology, architecture, workﬂow and design decisions

What you'll need to thrive:

Minimum of 3 years' experience with JVM languages and modern frontend frameworks
Experience and passion for building APIs and backend services
Passion for performance, best practices, and API design
Expertise in creating great user experiences
Ability to collaborate efficiently with different people and proﬁles as well as share knowledge
Fluent English (our company language) and great communication skills
Keen interest in technical challenges and striving for continuous development
