Role Summary:

Join the Intelligent Devices engineering team of Current powered by GE, where you will have direct impact on how software connects controllable LED lighting and sensors to the "internet of things". Help driving the disruption of energy business in a talented and enthusiastic team working on important global projects.

As an Embedded SW Engineer, you will:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work in close cooperation with the SW, HW and QA engineers of the IntelligentDevices group in Agile methodology (Scrum)
  • Design firmware/software for electronic lighting control productsfollowing GE specification and New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
  • Develop and validateinnovative software platforms for lighting controls, sensor data collection andenergy management

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Informatics
  • Minimum some experience in embedded C software development in enterprise environment
  • Working knowledge with low power radio network communication: IEEE802.15.4 and/or Bluetooth
  • Working knowledge in TCP/IP network communication: UDP, TCP, DHCP
  • Working knowledge in signal processing
  • Working knowledge in embedded OSes (e.g. FreeRTOS) and tasking
  • Ability to build rapid script solutions (MATLAB/Python/Octave/etc.)
  • Ability to work globally in a multi-cultural, multi-discipline environment
  • Energized team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Good verbal and written English knowledge

Desired Characteristics:

  • Understanding of lighting control methods and protocols (e.g. DALI)
  • Experience with Building Management Systems
  • Experience in Agile SW development methodology
  • Experience in development in Linux environment (network and socket)
  • Experience with IPv6
  • Experience with ZigBee or BLE
